Buyers often read “ready fabric” as “any quantity can be produced immediately.” In practice, stock status, fabric minimum and garment MOQ answer three separate questions.

What does each quantity field mean?
| Field | Question answered | Follow-up question |
|---|---|---|
| Ready-stock fabric | Is there a stock indication that can be checked or allocated? | Which color, lot and usable meterage? |
| Fabric minimum | How many meters can the supplier arrange? | Is it calculated by color, and can colors be combined? |
| Garment MOQ | How many finished pieces can the factory plan for the style? | Is it total pieces, per color or per style? |
Mingsheng sample records show different combinations: a non-stock fabric with recorded fabric and style quantities, a ready-stock note with no fabric-minimum field filled, and a record where the fabric minimum and style quantity differ. These records explain the relationship between fields; they are not a current universal quotation.
Why should a blank field stay blank?
A blank fabric-minimum field may mean that it was not entered, not confirmed or handled through another procurement route. It does not mean zero. Ask the supplier to mark it as “to be confirmed” and add color, lot, width, weight, composition and expected waste.
The style quantity in a sample record should also not be rewritten as the company's standard MOQ. Mingsheng's ordinary-project reference is 500 pieces, while color, fabric, special workmanship and delivery can change the project condition.
How should a small order be submitted?
Send the style image or Tech Pack, composition and weight, target colors, total pieces, pieces per color, size ratio, logo, packing and target date. If ready-stock fabric is preferred, state whether a close shade, existing width or existing lot is acceptable.
This allows the factory to separate material availability, cutting, production planning and delivery. A total quantity alone cannot show which MOQ will limit the project.
How should the condition be recorded?
Save the confirmed fabric lot, color approval, quantity split and garment MOQ version. If the fabric or color split changes, recheck quotation and lead time. Do not replace a current confirmation with a blank sample field, old record or verbal assumption.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does ready-stock fabric mean there is no fabric minimum?
Not necessarily. The stock note may apply to one color, lot or supplier. Available meters, color conditions and the current minimum still need confirmation.
Is fabric MOQ or garment MOQ more important?
Both conditions matter. Fabric procurement can limit color and lot choices, while garment MOQ also depends on style, size, workmanship and production planning.
Can a sample-library MOQ be used as a quotation?
No. A sample record is a development reference. A current quotation must recheck fabric, quantity, color and production schedule.
