The main risk in a placement-print shirt is not the artwork alone. It is whether the artwork still lands in the right place after marker planning, cutting and sewing. A single product photo rarely explains enough for a quote.

What do sample-development records reveal?
Mingsheng's internal sample records include one style described with an all-over placement print, hem vents and side-seam alignment. Another record notes placement print, single-piece cutting, a back opening and a hem vent. These are development records used to build a buyer checklist. They are not a universal process promise for every placement-print order.
Turn the record into three questions: which panels carry a fixed artwork landmark; which seams or plackets must continue the artwork; and where should an opening or vent avoid the main motif? Answer those questions before discussing layout and price.
What belongs in the Tech Pack?
| Area | Write down | Verify at sampling |
|---|---|---|
| Front and back | Artwork center line, baseline and height | Symmetry and orientation |
| Side seams and placket | Continuous alignment or an allowed break | Seam allowance, shrinkage and tolerance |
| Hem vent | Vent length and artwork keep-out area | Artwork after the vent opens |
| Back opening | Position, shape and edge finish | Whether the edge cuts the main motif |
| Cutting method | Single-piece cutting or a method to be assessed | Fabric width, waste and quantity |
Single-piece cutting is a project condition that needs layout and fabric information. It should not be promised from the keyword alone. Also confirm the repeat unit, color tolerance and final garment acceptance method.
Why inspect panels, not only a finished photo?
A finished photo shows one result. Cut panels show the artwork landmark, seam allowance and opening position. Keep the artwork file, marker or layout note, key-panel photos and front/back sample photos together, then record the approved version.
Mingsheng develops woven shirts from a design file, reference sample or Tech Pack. Feasibility still depends on fabric, artwork complexity, quantity, cutting method and delivery plan. A sample record does not prove a fixed surcharge or a bulk-production result.
Placement-print brief checklist
- Artwork file, colors and repeat unit.
- Landmark notes for front, back, placket, side seams, sleeves and hem.
- Alignment, single-piece cutting and layout requirements.
- Fabric composition, width, weight, shrinkage and shade tolerance.
- Sample, panel and sealed-sample review requirements.
Use the Mingsheng OEM/ODM workflow to submit the full brief so the quotation is based on the same information.

Frequently Asked Questions
What should a buyer send before quoting a placement-print shirt?
Send the artwork, sample or visual reference, panel landmarks, size chart, fabric information and quantity. State whether the placket, side seams or hem must align.
Does every placement print require single-piece cutting?
No. The cutting method depends on repeat size, layout, fabric width, quantity and the acceptance standard agreed for the project.
Can a normal printed sample replace a placement-print approval?
No. Placement must be checked on the cut panels and after assembly; a normal print sample only proves that the artwork was printed on fabric.
