Shirt Export Certifications and Trade Terms: A Buyer Checklist

Export sourcing is easier to control when certification evidence, product quality, payment, Incoterm scope, shipment documents and packing are reviewed as separate but connected items.

Aligning factory evidence with shipment responsibilities.

A useful export checklist does not treat “certified factory” or “FOB price” as complete answers. Confirm the evidence, then define what the factory will make, inspect, document and hand over.

Review the factory evidence

Check entity, address, scope, audit date, issuing or audit body, corrective actions and current status. Social compliance should not be used as a substitute for a product-quality plan; compare the shirt production quality control process.

Normalize the trade term

Write the Incoterm version and named place, then separate garment price, packing, inland transport, export clearance, freight, insurance, duties and destination delivery. The shirt export certification and FOB guide covers the same review from an FOB perspective.

Align payment and documents

Confirm deposit, balance trigger, commercial invoice, packing list, carton marks, inspection and shipment release. The garment manufacturing contracts guide helps connect these items to a written agreement.

Check project fit

Mingsheng's factory capability page provides a starting point for reviewing production base, equipment, team and project scope before a quotation is compared.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which certificate should every shirt factory have?

There is no universal document for every order; match the buyer's market and customer requirements to the exact entity, site, scope and validity.

Can FOB and CIF be compared by unit price alone?

No. The named port, freight, insurance, shipment point and excluded destination costs must be normalized first.

Who confirms the final trade term?

The buyer and seller should agree the Incoterm version, named place, documents and cost responsibilities in the order or contract.
